Do you feel discomfort with your new hearing aids?

If so, the root of the problem is probably in the molds or shells.

A new hearing aid means that the mold is also new and whether you wore hearing aids in the past, where you already had your form, or if you don't, it's normal for you to notice the difference or a new presence in your ears.

Although we attribute the discomfort to the molds or shells, one thing that is certain: to feel discomfort with your hearing aid is not always synonymous that the molds don't fit you well. Discomforts may come from your ear because, for example, you have irritated skin or because you have changed weight and notice more or less pressure. For scrapes or irritated skin there are creams in the pharmacy that can solve these discomforts, although if the pain persists it is better to do a review of the state of health of your ears.

You may also have the feeling that your hearing instruments stand out from your ears. Often it is a subjective perception -often also true- but there is a solution: hearing aids can be tailor-made so that the molds can be widened or reduced to fit your hearing correctly.

It may also be that you have the sensation of occlusion and that you perceive your ear more clogged. This is known as venting effect, when the ear canal is plugged by the mould and some pressure is produced on the eardrum.
The sensation of occlusion can be solved by widening the hearing aids so that you feel less occluded, although always up to a certain point.
