How much does an audiometry cost?
Doing audiometry, to know your degree of listening, is FREE in any of our CLASO hearing centers.
In addition, now you can also do it comfortably from your home with our online audiometry.
Audiometry is the auditory test that allows the audiologist to know people's ability to hear and determine the best solution for a hearing loss. In our Claso auditoriums this test costs nothing, it is free, whether you decide to do it in person or online.
There are some differences depending on the modality you choose. However, both allow the audiologist to know your hearing system, as well as help you choose the best solution.
What is face-to-face audiometry?
Face-to-face audiometry can last between an hour and an hour and a half, and includes a thorough study of the client's hearing levels at the clinic. It usually does tonal audiometry, discomfort threshold testing, bone audiometry, and verbal audiometry. All of these tests allow the audiologist to determine the person's hearing profile to offer the best solution.
However, in many cases this study has already been done previously by the ENT and the client can send it directly to the clinic to find the best solution to their hearing problem.
Is online audiometry reliable?
Online audiometry is just as reliable as face-to-face audiometry. It is true that in the case of online audiometry the tests are reduced to tonal audiometry. However, it is enough for the audiologist to find a solution to the person's hearing loss. In addition, if the client wishes, he can send the study previously carried out by an ent specialist to the hearing center.
On the contrary, from a simple online audiometry you can also go directly to an on-site audiometry. In other words, after the tonal audiometry performed online, the audiologist will send the corresponding hearing aid to the client, pre-configured according to the results obtained. And later, through a video call and the hearing aid brand's mobile application, the ideal configuration can be made with on-site audiometry.
What is in situ audiometry?
We talk about on-site audiometry when we configure hearing aids already placed in the user's ear. This audiometry is the most effective of all, since the levels of sounds that the person will hear during the configuration will be those that they will later hear in their day to day life. However, during the following days, the necessary readjustments considered in the adaptation process will be made.
On-site audiometry can be done both online and in person, in both cases the results will not vary, since the configuration system will be the same.
As we have mentioned before, both options are free for anyone who wants to have their listening levels checked. To perform an online audiometry you will only need headphones, find a quiet place and click here.
