Linx Quattro de Resound compatible with Android
For several years the ReSound brand has had devices that connect to the user's smartphone to make it easier to use the functionalities of the hearing instruments. However, these options were not available for Android devices as this operating system did not include Low Power Bluetooth Transmission.
Since September, Google Pixel 3 or 3a mobile devices updated with Android 10 can enjoy connection services without any external hardware with Linx Quattro ReSound hearing systems. This advancement is thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy technology that helps to extend the battery life of the headphones, also for Android. Want to know more about these features?
What are ReSound Linx Quattro?
ReSound LiNX Quattro is the smallest and longest lasting integrated 2.4 GHz lithium-ion rechargeable hearing aid on the market.
This hearing instrument with wireless connectivity allows you to transmit from almost any audio source and customise the sound on the fly. It comes with a carrying case that acts as a portable charger that supports three additional charges and offers quick recharges. This hearing solution requires a single recharge to operate for two days and has the ability to provide 30 hours of battery life. It is the most advanced and intuitive rechargeable hearing instrument on the market and has been designed to inspire confidence and security at the most important moments.
As its name suggests, ReSound's Linx Quattro is based on 4 fundamental pillars:
- Unmatched sound quality
- Full transmission spectrum
- Support and customization anywhere, anytime through the Resound Smart 3D app
- The world's most advanced rechargeable solution
Streaming direct from Android
GN Hearing has recently reached an agreement with Google to improve the Android user experience by creating operating system compatibility in their latest Android 10 update. This means that just as up until now it was only iPhone users who could enjoy the benefits of direct audio streaming from their terminals, so can Android users.
This is possible thanks to the new Low Energy Bluetooth wireless transmission protocol called ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids), which allows listening to calls, videos, music or any other audio source from an Android 10 smartphone to a Resound Linx Quattro headset, in any of its formats.
It should be noted that to date only Google smartphones: Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have full compatibility. However, the rest of Android devices also need to integrate this technology to be accessible to everyone. Soon we will update what new devices are added to these features.
