In this post we want to talk about the uses and benefits of hearing aids to discover what they can offer and how they can help you. So open your ears!

We want to highlight four among all the characteristics of hearing aids nowadays: directionality, connectivity, channels and configurable programs.

Directionality allows to distinguish the source of the sounds, which makes communication much easier.

Connectivity refers to the ability of the hearing aid to connect to the digital environment wirelessly. That means that the hearing aid is able to receive by bluetooth signals from a wide variety of mobile devices. Thus, talking on the phone, for example, becomes much easier. Or following a class from the last row, if we place a microphone near the teacher.

Channels, on the other hand, subdivide the spectrum that amplifies the hearing aid, so that it can be adjusted more accurately and more comfortable for the user. Thanks to the channels, if what you don’t hear are the low frequencies, you can adjust only the gain on these frequencies and leave the other ones as they were.

In addition, higher-end hearing aids carry even configurable programs that adapt to the environment, either in a manual or automatic mode. A program for peaceful environments, one for noisy environments, another for music...

As you can guess, the more performance and versatility, higher is the price of the hearing aid. That’s why it is important that you think, before choosing yours, about which are the technologies that you may need the most, because these innovations are not for everyone. Most advances are directly related to a young urban life style, so we cannot say that the best hearing aid is always the higher-end one; for an older person or someone who lives in the countryside, many of these benefits won’t be useful.

We can say it louder, but what matters is being clear: don’t let anyone mess with your ears and choose the hearing aid that you need and want! There’s no need to pay for a technology that you are not going to use.
