Accessing a hearing aid should not be complicated, especially when it is a necessity related to health and quality of life. That is why, at Claso, we would like to share some long-awaited news.

After three years without a new call for applications, the Social Care Benefit for People with Disabilities (PUA) is back. This is an important opportunity for people who need financial support to purchase products such as hearing aids.

What is the purpose of the PUA benefit?

When a person has a disability—whether physical, intellectual, or sensory—it is often necessary to access specific products or services that involve a financial cost. The purpose of this benefit is to help cover these expenses, improve quality of life, and promote personal autonomy and social inclusion.

Who is eligible?

  • The benefit is intended for people with a recognised disability rating of 33% or higher who meet the established requirements. In the case of hearing aids, two situations are covered:
    • People over the age of 16 with a hearing disability rated at 33% or higher.
    • People with a hearing disability who also have a speech and language disorder, visual impairment, and/or intellectual disability, provided that their overall recognised disability rating is 33% or higher.

What is the application period?

Applications will open on Tuesday, August 25, at 9:00 a.m. and close on Friday, October 2, at 2:00 p.m.

Is the application process easy?

Yes. The process is straightforward and can be completed either in person or by post, depending on your preference.

How do you apply?

Applications must be submitted using the official application form, available both at the relevant offices and online.
